Forensic Mental Health
You will learn how to help the mental wellness of individuals who are in the criminal justice system.

You will understand social justice as it applies to counseling individuals from diverse backgrounds.
PROGRAM DETAILS
Our mission is to prepare counselors to work in a broad range of practice settings, with an increasingly diverse clientele. The CMHC program curriculum follows the CACREP guidelines and prepares students to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Paul J. Bourgeois, Ph.D., CRC, NCC
Paul Bourgeois is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology and Coordinator of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. Dr. Bourgeois holds a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counselor Education from the University of Arizona. He has published and presented widely on issues related to professional ethical behavior and professional issues in counseling. Currently, his research is focused on ethical issues in counseling involving the use of technology and ethical workplace culture within counseling organizations. He is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and National Certified Counselor. Dr. Bourgeois is active in numerous professional organizations, including the American Counseling Association, the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, and the National Council on Rehabilitation Education.
